Collection And Means For A Display

For this project we were tasked as a class to make a collection and means for display. As I started coming up with ideas for a collection my brain went two ways. My first option was to do something with all of my hoarded chic-fil-a sauces, but I decided to shoot that idea down because I would need to go to CFA many more times to acquire my materials. So I went with my second idea, which was to provide a selection of flashcards. In high school (and in college) flashcards have been my go to item to help me study, and I have MANY old flashcards stuffed in my drawers back home, mostly from my old Spanish classes. So I thought about elementary themes of nostalgia that fit in well with many of my other projects that I have done this semester.

For this project I took flashcards and on the front of them drew with a brush pen locations of some of my top childhood and high school memories that stay near to my heart. On the back of each flashcard is a few little words describe what memories I have with each location. For a means of display I chose a cork board so often seen on elementary and high school walls. I really wanted to capture that school feel, in the spirit of nostalgia and finals week. Hopefully, whenever I circle back to these flashcards, I will force myself never to forget these dear memories. It'll be like a study session. Who knows how old and frail my mind will get.
