I really find this piece by Cecily brown inspiring. Her use of colors and imagery that just lays on top of it really pleases me. But her use of theme is the real show stopper, she uses imagery and themes of creation in this piece, that constantly builds upon each other and tears everything apart at the same time. I'm personally a huge fan of creation themes which might be why I'm so drawn to the piece in the first place.

Georgia O'keeffe is another artist who really inspires me. Although she is an important figure in art history, and her pieces might be considered a little bit old, I still go back to her work for inspiration. Like with Brown, I love the colors she uses. Although the two artist make use of different color pallets, I still love seeing the colors in both pieces and how they play with each other, especially when they're side by side. My pallet is usually a hybrid of theirs. I also just love the fact that she chose to paint flowers so up close, in a new perspective to force people to see something in a new way, and people misunderstood her concept. As an artist I can identify with trying to look for new perspectives for the pieces I create, a lot like what O'Keeffe did.
